the divide

The Notting Hill Carnival! A jubilant time for many communities unified in celebration of a culture that has its roots firmly in the Caribbean. This carnival has now come to represent the diverse nature of London town. To the left of the shot is an expression of this unity as groups of girls share a moment of fun. Yet, whilst they mingle the lack of male presence is conspicuously absent. In the distance, the guys walk away with their backs turned. apart from one older guy looking in the girls direction. It wasn’t always this way. Is he facing a hard and unfortunate fact? Is it too late for this generation?
